The event was graced by Iconic actor and motivational speaker, Anupam Kher, and had phenomenal conversation with the author Ms Gajra Kottary at the book launch of ‘Once Upon a Star’. They conversed about the novel, the complications of ideal relationships in the glam world, and strength and endurance of women.

About the book:

The book is a beautiful fiction enthused from real Bollywood Celebrity Stories. We all have heard about the tales of happy celebrity couple but the book depicts the reality of their personal lives which has fears, qualms, insecurities, true shades & inconsolable sentiments.  It’s an impressive fiction and story that will touch your heart. It’s an extraordinary love triangle that belongs to the World of Fame and how Media changes the life of the trio. The book will make your soul travel through various emotions like love, faith & betrayal. Also, it’s an inspiration for all the women who come back strong after a huge loss in their lives.

Anupam Sir said that ‘once upon a Star’ is an emotional roller-coaster and a riveting read.  It truly happens in Bollywood and beyond glam world too. The book is written brilliantly. Every sentenced describes has clear and great visualization. He also asked Ace writer Gajra Kottary if this book is adapted into a movie, who she would like to portray as her book characters. To which Ms. Gajra said, “my favorite character of the book is Simran, she is beautiful, strong and mature house wife who gave her acting career for Raj who is today’s super star. She goes through a lot of emotions and I thinkVidya Balan will be the perfect for the role because she has all the characteristics of ideal woman and she is strength herself, also, she is a brilliant actress”

About the Author:
Gajra Kottary is a multimedia writer. Her first collection of women-centric short stories, Fragile Victories, was published in 1996. It was followed by another collection, The Last Laugh, in 2003. Her debut novel Broken Melodies was published by HarperCollins Publishers India in 2011 to critical acclaim, simultaneously with its Hindi translation Bikhre Sur. Gajra has written television serials likeHamareTumhareAstitva – EkPremKahani, the nation’s most popular daily soap BalikaVadhu, and more recently, Buddh, Veera & Satrangi Sasural. She has won many awards for her TV scripts/stories; among them are the Indian Television Academy’s Best Teleplay Award, the Indian Telly Award, the Apsara Award and the Global Indian Television Award. She was also the script associate with Mahesh Bhatt on the film Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar directed bTanuja Chandra. This is her second novel.
