The Dressing Room sees fashion designers from across India for its 11th edition












February 27, Mumbai: The Dressing Room exhibition started by sisters-in-law Shilpi Jatia and Rituu Bagrodia saw its 11th edition of Spring/Summer designer collections with over 50 designers from across India at the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai. The collections being showcased saw the infallible blend of fun and beautifully colored summery dresses, designer footwear, accessories and kids wear. 

Designers such as Varun Bahl, Nishka Lulla, Natasha Kapoor, Alpana Gujral, Yogesh and Surendri Chaudhary, Payal Khandwala, Gaurav and Ritika and Urvashi Kaur flew in to personally attend the exhibition and interact with their buyers.

The exhibition was also attended by prominent faces such as Varsha Taurani and her daughter Sneha, television actress Gurdeep Kohli with her mother, model Tapur Chatterjee with a friend amongst others.

Whilst enjoying this day-long fashion event, the exhibition also saw buyers joining hands in support of the Cuddles Foundation.

LAPCARE, developers of laptop peripherals and accessories for all premium laptop brands, has announced that it has recorded impressive 40% YoY growth in 2013. LAPCARE plans to sign up new channel partners to further enhance its impressive growth story in India. This will come by the company expanding its distribution network across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to address.

India market has matured and has become sizable when it comes to laptop accessories. The accessories market is estimated to be over 15 million dollars (US figures). Portable mice, Privacy screens, cooling solutions with laptops, Wireless Presenters, functional backpacks, etc are going to will continue to enjoy an upward consumption trend. The traction for all kind of accessories has gone up, and the growth has been rather good in accessories business which is purely driven by laptop sales. Diverse market with diverse customer preferences makes it a big challenge to market our products in a way that will connect well with the customers. Consumers want products that are portable travel friendly and light and to meet these demands, LAPCARE is adding more innovative range of products.

LAPCARE is currently in process of identifying the right partners in Tier-2 and Tier-3cities like Ahmadabad, Chennai, North East, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Rajkot and Surat with a sedate start of its India operations. In the year 2013, North region was the largest contributor to the LAPCARE business in terms of revenue and RD base, providing more than 40% share of its total business in India. MTDC and MEHAIR start amphibian plane services from Mumbai to boost tourism





Mumbai, 24th February, 2014: The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and Maritime Energy Heli Air Services Pvt Ltd (MEHAIR) launched the first seaplane service of Maharashtra in Mumbai today. The amphibian planes will eventually connect Mumbai with tourist destinations adjacent to suitable water bodies even though there are no runways at these destinations.   
In the first phase of its operations in Maharashtra, the services will be launched to destinations like Aamby Valley lake, Mula Dam (Meherabad/Shirdi), Pawna Dam (Lonavla), Varasgaon Dam (Lavasa) and Dhoom Dam (Panchgani/Mahabaleshwar).  Fliers can book seats on http://www.mehair.in/ from 5th March 2014.
The service was launched by Hon'ble Minister (Tourism) Shri Chhagan Chandrakant Bhujbal and present dignitaries during the event included, Shri Ranjit Kamble, State Minister for Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, Mr Sumit Mullick, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, Dr Jagdish Patil, Managing Director, MTDC, Mr Satish Soni, Joint Managing Director, MTDC and Mr. Siddharth Verma, Director and Co-Founder MEHAIR and Mr. Vivek Kumar, CEO Aamby Valley City.
Shri Bhujbal said, “This is a one more feather in the cap of Maharashtra Tourism. We have constantly offering best and innovative services and concepts to the tourism in the state. The Seaplane service will add a lot to the tourism and help unlock the potentials.”
Similarly, Shri Kamble said that it was the need of hour to have such a service. “We have to keep up our pace with the global tourism standards. Maharashtra Tourism has been moving aggressively in the directions of making the state as one of the most favoured destinations in the country.”
The amphibian plane service will be priced to suit all pockets as it will be for the mass market and not for a premium niche. MTDC has partnered with MEHAIR to extend its support and engulf the vast vision and encumbrance of this venture.
Dr Patil, said, "These services will boost tourism greatly. Seaplanes will turn vacation destinations into weekend destinations. The fatigue and expenditure involved in reaching your destination will also come down drastically."
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vivek Kumar said, “Seaplane services will add to the attraction of the Aamby Valley and will cater to the resident and property owners within Aamby Valley by offering a quick, economical and exciting mode of transport from Mumbai” MEHAIR plans to soon have a full-fledged commuter service from Juhu to Nariman Point which is the star attraction and is much awaited by the people jostling with the heavy traffic of Mumbai.” The first flight is being flagged off to the tourist destination of Aamby Valley which becomes the first seaplane destination in the mainland of India.
The seaplane service is being launched in Maharashtra with a Cessna 206 Amphibian and another Cessna 208 Amphibian aircraft will be inducted by Apr’14 and these two models can accommodate 4 to 9 passengers respectively. "We want to charge our customer affordable rates. A journey from Juhu to Nariman Point could cost Rs 800 in a radio cab, and take at least an hour. We plan to charge an inaugural price of Rs. 750 for our service, which will complete the journey in less than ten minutes. This venture was only possible with the tremendous support from the MTDC” Siddharth Verma said.

Mumbai, February 22, 2014: The 6th edition of Lavasa Women’s Drive (LWD), India’s largest women’s car rally saw 2000 women drive to Lavasa from Mumbai and Pune with great zeal in a show of women’s empowerment. The flag off event at Kamla Mills, Mumbai saw women parading their 4 wheel beauties decked with impactful messages on women related issues with great élan.
In Mumbai, the flag off event was a star-studded affair with Bollywood celebrities like Kunal Kapoor, Manish Paul, ­­­Ashmit Patel and Elli Avram flagging the cars and boosting the morale of the spirited women. The first car to roll out was the Rosy car driven by Prachi Mishra. In all 350 cars were flagged of from Mumbai. The participants dressed in exclusively designed T shirts were seen driving a range of cars to compete and raise awareness for a social cause.
Participants made it to the cool picturesque Lavasa following the rules set by Indian Automotive Racing Club (IARC) on the 240 km stretch with the help of a tulip chart. The drive was in Time-Distance-Speed format (TDS). Participants entered Lavasa to a rousing reception as they were welcomed with flowers and a special theme song beautifully rendered by well known singer Shibani Kashyap
Participants of this year’s Lavasa Women’s Drive highlighted burning issues of violence against women, declining ratio of girls apart from inspirational messages from the cancer survivor participants.
Ms. Anuradha Paraskar, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Lavasa Corporation Limited, saluting the spirit of the participants said, “Lavasa Women’s Drive has grown bigger, setting new milestones with each passing year. This year the participants collectively polled a record 32 lakh votes from their acquaintances from over 100 countries to get themselves selected for the drive. The drive has emerged as a platform for the modern Indian women to show their indomitable spirit by taking up new challenges and boldly display their concerns on issues affecting women.   
After making it consecutively to the Limca Book of Records for the last 3 years, we are now attempting to set a new Guinness World Record. All this has been made possible only due to the tremendous support Lavasa Women’s Drive gets from the participants.”
